A week ago I had the pleasure of having breakfast with my brother, Robert, in Chicago. For those of you that read Livefire, my other blog, you may recall that he’s one of the owners of a great gastropub in Logan Square, Longman & Eagle. The breakfast menu goes from very well done traditional breakfast to just plain stupidly good stuff.
While having breakfast at the bar, Robert pointed out that they had gotten a couple of whiskeys bottled with the restaurant name on the label. Both are single batch whiskeys, and I decided to get a bottle of the 12-year-old Elijah Craig to bring home.
I haven’t opened it yet, but I will eventually. In the meantime, here are a couple shots of the packaging and bottle. I look forward to opening this up with family soon to celebrate the success that my kid brother is having, and to toast to even more of good things to come his way.

Kudos to your brother. Hope good things continue his way. I’ll look forward to some tasting notes from you when that bottle gets opened. I’d say it’s a “special event” kind of bottle.
I’m expecting to see more whiskeys with L&E on them. In fact, I wish I had just gotten both bottles available!
